Uniswap Labs has published a temperature-check proposal to extend the protocol’s fee collection and UNI burn infrastructure to Arc, where Uniswap v2, v3, v4 and UniswapX are already deployed.
If governance approves the proposal, protocol fees generated on Arc would ultimately feed into the same wider UNI burn system already operating across other networks.
Arc Would Become The Next Fee-Enabled Chain
Uniswap’s fee rollout has been gradually expanding.
Protocol fees are already active across Ethereum and a growing list of additional networks.
The Arc proposal would turn them on across v2, v3 and v4 on Circle’s Layer 1.
Fees would accumulate in TokenJar contracts.
Searchers can then claim those fees by burning UNI, linking protocol usage back to the token’s burn mechanism.
The proposal also lays out the cross-chain governance infrastructure needed to make that work.
Governance instructions originate on Ethereum and are transmitted to Arc using Wormhole infrastructure.
This Is A Proposal, Not An Executed Change
That distinction matters.
The temperature check opened on September 18 and runs through September 23.
If it succeeds, an on-chain vote follows.
So protocol fees have not simply switched on because the forum post exists.
The proposal is asking UNI holders whether Arc should join the existing fee rollout.
The timing makes sense.
Arc went live this month and Uniswap was available from launch.
If activity develops there, protocol fees give Uniswap DAO a way to capture some of that usage through the burn system.
For UNI holders, the bigger story is that fee activation is becoming less of a one-off governance debate and more of an expanding network-by-network process.
Arc is simply the latest chain being added to that list.
